Who Qualifies for Hospice Care?

To qualify for hospice care, your primary physician and a hospice doctor should certify that you have a life expectancy of 6 months or less if the medical condition runs its full course.

When you choose hospice care, you are opting for comfort care instead of curative treatment options. Medicare-certified hospice care is often given out at home or a facility where the patient currently resides.

Do You Copay for Hospice?

If you have Medicare, you are not responsible to pay anything out of your pocket. You pay nothing for hospice care, but you may pay 5% of the Medicare-approved amount for inpatient respite care.

Before you enroll in hospice care, make sure to reach out to Physicians Choice Home Health and Hospice care team to learn more about the entire cost.
