What Are The Levels Of Hospice Care?
Hospice care is comfort care offered to a patient with less than 6 months to live. According to The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, there are FOUR levels of hospice care.
While one patient may experience all four levels within a short period of time, others may just experience one level during the entire length of the program.
The Four Levels of Hospice Care
Every Medicare-certified hospice provider should offer these four levels of hospice care
- Respite Care
Primary caregivers can choose respite care to take a break from caregiving duties. - Hospice Care At Home
Physicians Choice Home Health and Hospice makes it easy for the patient and his family members to choose hospice care at home. - Continuous Hospice Care
When medically necessary, continuous hospice care is provided to the patient and his family. - Inpatient Hospice Care
If it is difficult to manage symptoms at home, inpatient hospice care is provided till the patient can return home.
